One round for 4, includes cart! Winfield Country Club was founded through the efforts of Fred C. Clarke, a Hall of Fame Major League Baseball player and manager from 1894 to 1915. Clarke, an avid golfer who played both right- and left-handed, initiated the club’s formation in 1914 by purchasing 160 acres from James Lorton. The club officially started in 1917, with elected officers and committee chairmen overseeing its development. Early membership dues were $25 per year, and golfers used sand to tee up their balls before wooden tees were invented. The club evolved over the years, with a new clubhouse and swimming pool built in 1970, and the golf course expanded to 18 holes through land purchases and residential lot sales. The course features Zoysia fairways and a modern irrigation system. Winfield Country Club takes pride in its rich history and invites golfers to experience its course. Winner will receive a gift certificate.
